OH SMART Master Facilitator Training Kampala

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

Assessing gaps in collaboration during an outbreak response may lead to improvement of coordination in the next emergency. Co-developed by the University of Minnesota and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the One Health Systems Mapping and Analysis Resource Toolkit (OH-SMART) uses real-life challenges like zoonotic disease surveillance and response to work through a series of specific steps adapted from business process improvement and participatory leadership methods to create a visual representation, or map, of the system of communication and coordination across their organizations – allowing them to analyze the One Health system.

A Master Facilitator training was conducted for One Health practitioners in the One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) countries to create a pool of individuals in academia, government and bilateral agencies who could then conduct similar training workshops in their countries.
