Pfizer and SEAOHUN Collaborate to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance ( AMR )

On the July 10, 2019 , Bangkok, THAILAND. Pfizer Thailand and South East Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN), a regional consortium of 72 higher educational institutes to advance One Health Workforce development, have joined hands with an intent to help address the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Thailand. The joint initiative will implement a series of interventions ranging from AMR stewardship, conducting educational and training programmes to creating awareness around responsible use of antibiotics for healthcare professionals and communities within Thailand and SEAOHUN country networks. This collaboration aligns with Thailand’s National Strategic Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance including AMR surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) in humans, animals and agriculture, regulation on antimicrobial distribution as well as raising knowledge and awareness of AMR. The partnership creates opportunities for Pfizer to enhance knowledge sharing and capability development through continuing medical education, information materials, and AMS implementation strategy. SEAOHUN will provide platform for educational outreach and

engagement within SEAOHUN country networks to help enhancing knowledge and awareness on AMR.
