Dr. Saphonn Vonthanak,MD, PhD, MS, University of Health Sciences

Dr. Vonthanak Saphonn is the Rector of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Cambodia where he is helping to educate the next generation of Cambodian health professionals. He received his medical degree from the UHS in 1995 and both his PhD in Epidemiology in 2003 and MS in 2004 from the Fielding School. He has authored and co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has contributed to the development of research and policy in Cambodia and internationally, and played a key role in the effort to mitigate HIV/AIDS
