Dr. Chitlada Areesantichai, Chair of THOHUN, Chulalongkorn University (CU)


Professor. Dr. Chitlada Areesantichai is Dean at the College of Public Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University. She works as a director of the Drug Dependence Research Center, Excellence Centre for Health and Social Sciences and Addition Research, and the Chula HealthStreet program.


Currently, she is a member of the Administrative Committee of the Substance Abuse Academic Network, Office of the Narcotics Control Board, Thailand and a chairman of Thailand One Health University Network (THOHUN).She completed a Doctoral Degree in Research for Health Development, Chulalongkorn University Epidemiologist and data processing by training at the National Drug Research Institute, WHOCC for the Prevention and Control of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Curtin University, Perth, Australia, post-doctoral fellowship of Department of Epidemiology, College of Medicine, University of Florida, U.S.A.


Professor Dr. Chitlada has research experiences in many research alcohol, tobacco, substance and HIV/AIDS, drug dependent populations, IVDUs, MSM and transgender populations. Her research focuses on cannabis, national household surveys for drug and alcohol abuse, community actions and alcohol harm reduction. She initiated alcohol prevention and intervention models, including TGCBI.
