Since its inception in 1967, more than 1000 graduates have gone on to top-level careers in One Health, wildlife health, public policy, corporate work, non-profits, public health, agriculture, herd health, regulatory medicine, academic practice, shelter medicine and more throughout the United States and 74 other countries. The MPVM curriculum includes statistics, epidemiology, implementation of research, leadership, One Health, data management, infectious disease epidemiology, and the individual choice among hundreds of possible electives such as disease ecology, modeling, zoonoses, risk analysis, diagnostic test evaluation, spatial epidemiology, and many others. Students undertake mentored, publishable research on a project of their choosing.
Admission is available for candidates with DVM or equivalent and MD degrees, and individuals with at least a BA/BS and extensive experience in a related field such as wildlife or herd health. The MPVM program can be completed in one year, but some students take 2 years to complete all coursework and research.
Applications are due by January 15, 2020 (priority to qualify for financial aid) with late applications accepted until June 1.
